1 × 3.5 White Direct Thermal Labels – High‑Contrast, Permanent Adhesive
Med Supply Lab's 1 in × 3.5 in white direct thermal labels are built for the direct thermal printers already common at pharmacy and lab labeling stations — no ribbon to stock, no smearing, and a permanent bond that holds on the HDPE and polypropylene bottles most pharmacies fill by hand.
Direct thermal is a different print technology from thermal transfer: a thermal transfer label needs a ribbon cartridge loaded into the printer, while a direct thermal label prints from heat alone, straight off a compatible printer, with one less consumable to keep in stock.
Sized for a standard patient dose label — name, dosage, date, and a barcode or lot number where a pharmacy's own workflow calls for one — each roll runs 1,350 labels, sold four rolls to a case, so a pharmacy dispensing at volume can restock without breaking into partial cases.
Key Features
- Direct thermal printing (no ribbon)
- Permanent acrylic adhesive for durable bond on HDPE, PP bottles
- High sensitivity white facestock for sharp, clear images
- 1 in core (roll) format
- 1,350 labels per roll, 4 rolls per case
Applications
Pharmacies and compounding pharmacies, hospital and health-system pharmacy, long-term care and skilled nursing, home health and hospice, urgent care and physician offices, correctional health, and veterinary practices all print on this label size somewhere in their dispensing or intake workflow — wherever a bottle, vial, or specimen needs a printed identifier rather than a handwritten one.
- Patient dose labeling (name, dosage, date)
- Bottle identification and compliance tracking
- Inventory labeling of bottled medications
- Clinic or pharmacy barcode/ID labeling
Because the label is direct thermal, any printer built for that format — the kind already sitting at most pharmacy and lab counters — prints on it without a ribbon change or a new driver. That keeps a printer running on one consumable instead of two, which matters most during a busy dispensing shift, when a ribbon running out mid-batch is the last thing anyone wants to troubleshoot. The white facestock is chosen for contrast, so a barcode or lot number scans cleanly on the first pass.
Compliance & Safety
Smudge‑resistant direct thermal prints and strong adhesion support regulatory compliance by reducing label failure or mislabeling in controlled substance dispensing.
