32-400 Child-Resistant Cap, Foil Seal

A 32-400 child-resistant cap with a 0.07 mm aluminium foil induction seal liner. The foil bonds to the bottle rim and cannot be lifted and replaced without leaving a mark, so the closure shows whether a container has been opened. Requires an induction sealer. Fits our 60cc packer bottle. Sold by the case of 2,000 caps.

Details

Applications and uses

Tamper evident bottle caps answer a question a child-resistant cap alone cannot: has this container been opened since it was filled? The foil bonds to the bottle rim under an induction sealer and cannot be lifted and replaced without leaving a visible mark. This cap provides both properties — child resistance from the mechanism, tamper evidence from the seal.

Sizes and fitment

This is a 32-400 cap and it fits our 60cc packer bottle. It does not fit the 30cc or 45cc, which take a 28-400 neck — those use a different cap. Worth checking the neck finish rather than the bottle size when matching to equipment, since the neck is what the sealer and the capping head engage with.

Induction seal liner

The liner is 0.07 mm aluminium foil. It requires an induction sealer, which is a real purchasing constraint: there is no hand-applied equivalent of this seal. Dwell time is 0.4 seconds and application torque is 98–118 N·cm (8.7–10.4 in-lb).

Different settings, one requirement: evidence that a container has not been opened between filling and use.

Material and compliance

Cap in polypropylene homopolymer, liner in aluminium induction foil. Both passed independent FDA food-contact material testing and are free of BPA, phthalates and latex.

Child resistance is certified on the package system — a specific closure with a specific bottle, tested together. This cap was certified with our 60cc bottle, so the certification covers the combination you receive rather than two separately approved parts that happen to fit. Tamper evidence comes from the foil seal itself rather than the child-resistant mechanism; the two are separate properties and this closure provides both. Application torque is 98–118 N·cm (8.7–10.4 in-lb).

Independent test documentation

FDA Food-Contact Safe

The cap (polypropylene homopolymer) and the aluminium foil induction seal liner both passed independent FDA food-contact material testing.

PPPA CR Packaging Certified - 16 CFR 1700.15
PPPA Child-Resistant Certified

Independently certified child-resistant packaging under 16 CFR 1700.15 (Poison Prevention Packaging Act).

Independently tested by Unitec Laboratory Services, an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited lab.

Pairs with

This 32-400 closure fits our 60cc packer bottle and nothing else in the range — the 30cc and 45cc take a 28-400 neck. It seals with an induction sealer; there is no hand-applied equivalent, so you will need one before these caps can be used.
