What an integrated cup is

The donor provides the specimen directly into the cup, the cup is capped, and the result is read through a window in the side. Nothing is decanted and no separate device is dipped, so the specimen is handled once. That is the whole argument for the format: fewer steps at the point of collection, and less opportunity for a handling error.

Several configurations include an adulteration strip in the same window — creatinine, specific gravity and pH, read at the same time as the drug panels. Glutaraldehyde, oxidant and nitrite are available on special order.

Which panel count you need

Thirty configurations span 5 to 22 panels, and two products at the same panel count do not necessarily test for the same analytes. Panel count narrows the choice; it does not finish it. Each product page carries its own cutoff chart with every analyte and its cutoff level.

If you already know the number, the panel-count pages are the faster route: 5-panel, 6-panel, 10-panel, 12-panel, 13-panel and 14-panel each list every configuration at that count across all formats.

Regulatory status

Twenty-three of the thirty are CLIA-waived and may be used for clinical testing. Seven are For Forensic Use Only and may not be used for clinical diagnosis or for employment and insurance testing.

The tier is stated on every product page and traces to the manufacturer’s documentation for that SKU. It is never inferred from panel count or format — a 14-panel cup may be either.
