Petroleum gauze or oil emulsion
Petroleum gauze is cotton gauze soaked in petroleum jelly. The oil emulsion dressing is knitted gauze with petrolatum and sunflower oil, and lets fluid pass into the dressing on top. Both go next to the wound under a cover dressing.
Sizes and packs
The 3 × 9 in petroleum gauze comes in boxes of 50 or 12. Every size is sterile and packed on its own.
