This SAFElife xylazine (XYL) test strip is built for the same harm-reduction and substance-checking use as the rest of the SAFElife drug-checking line, but for liquid, powder, or pill samples rather than urine. A 10 mg powder sample mixed with 5 mL of water, or a small volume of liquid, is enough to run the strip: dip to the MAX line for 15 seconds and read the result at 5 minutes. The built-in control (C) line confirms the strip ran correctly before the test (T) line is read for a result. Because xylazine is increasingly found mixed into the illicit drug supply alongside fentanyl, a program running fentanyl test strips can add xylazine strips to the same intake or outreach process without new equipment or a different read window — both strips use the same dip-and-read format and the same 5-minute wait. Sold by the case in 100, 500, or 3,000-test quantities, so an outreach program or forensic lab can match its order size to how many samples it processes without breaking into smaller lots.
