Single-analyte tests screen for one substance at a defined cutoff. Where a multi-panel cup covers breadth, these cover the substances a standard panel does not reach at all.

Buying guideWhat a standard panel misses, and why these exist

What a standard panel does not detect

Several substances do not appear on a standard multi-panel screen at any count. Fentanyl does not show on an opiate panel. K2 does not show on a THC panel. Kratom, ketamine, tramadol, gabapentin and pregabalin have no standard position at all. A negative ten-panel result says nothing about any of them.

EtG and alcohol

EtG is a metabolite of alcohol detectable for roughly 80 hours — far beyond a breath test, which measures only current intoxication. Available at 300 and 500 ng/mL. The cutoff is a real decision: 300 catches a longer window and more incidental exposure; 500 is more specific to drinking. They are different tests, not different sensitivities of the same one.

Substance checking

The fentanyl and xylazine strips test a liquid, powder or pill rather than a person — harm reduction and substance checking rather than screening. Xylazine is a veterinary sedative increasingly found alongside illicit fentanyl, and it does not respond to naloxone.

Regulatory status

Regulatory status varies by analyte on this page. The standard single-panel tests for common drugs of abuse, such as cocaine, methamphetamine, benzodiazepines and THC, are CLIA-waived. The specialty and metabolite panels, including EtG, fentanyl, cotinine and tramadol, are For Forensic Use Only. Each product states its own regulatory status and any use restrictions.

Ordering

Dip cards are sold by the box of 25 cards. Test strips are sold by the case, 100, 500 or 3,000 strips.
