Details
A sterile urine collection container built for drug-testing programs
This is the container a donor hands back at a collection site. Globe Scientific makes it in polypropylene, it holds 90 mL, it arrives sterile, and it ships by the case of 400 — the quantity a collection site or clinic actually gets through.
The temperature strip is the point
An attached temperature strip is what separates a drug-test container from an ordinary specimen cup. A urine specimen has to be read for temperature within minutes of being produced, because temperature is the first and simplest check that the sample is fresh and came from the person who handed it over. With the strip built into the wall of the container, the collector reads it where they stand, with no second device to find, calibrate or lose. Globe does not publish the strip’s marked range on its product page, so we do not state one here; check the strip itself for the range printed on it.
Labelling and closure
The container carries a tab-seal patient identification label, so the specimen is named at the moment it is collected rather than in the lab an hour later, and an attached white screwcap, which cannot be mislaid between collection and transport.
Who uses them
Drug-testing laboratories, treatment and recovery programs, occupational health and pre-employment screening, correctional health, and school and athletic screening programs. Any site running observed or unobserved collections needs a urine container for drug testing that is sterile, identified and temperature-readable in one piece.
What it is used with
Most sites pair this container with a biohazard specimen transport bag for the trip to the lab, and order it alongside their drug test cups and screens. The rest of the line is on our specimen collection page.
Why temperature verification happens at the point of collection
A urine specimen starts changing the moment it leaves the body. A result flagged for substitution or dilution almost always traces back to a temperature check that came too late or not at all. That is why this container reads temperature at the collection site, on the cup wall, with no second device to find and calibrate. The strip has to be read within minutes of the donor handing the container back. Globe Scientific does not publish a range for that window, so we do not state one here; the range printed on the strip is the reference. Reading it at once, in the room, is what makes a routine collection defensible.
What’s attached and what ships separately
The container arrives with two things in place. A tab-seal patient ID label names the sample the moment it is produced. An attached white screw cap closes the container and cannot be set down and lost between collection and transport. The trip to the lab is separate. Most sites pair this container with a 6 × 9 inch biohazard specimen transport bag, sold separately. Collection and transport are two line items, not one bundle. That mirrors how most sites order: a case of containers for the collection room and a case of bags for whoever runs them to the lab.
Common questions
Does it ship sterile? Yes — individually sterile, for single use.
Can I order less than a case? No — like the rest of the specimen range, this is sold by the case only: 400 containers to a case.
Does the transport bag come with it? No — the biohazard specimen transport bag is a separate product; most sites order both together.
Is the temperature strip built in? Yes. It is a drug test container with a temperature strip attached to the container wall, so there is no separate strip to keep track of.
Is it graduated? Yes. It is a graduated, wide-mouth 90 mL container.
