A sterile specimen cup that transfers without being opened
This is a 4 oz (120 mL) sterile specimen cup for urine collection, graduated to 100 mL, with Globe Scientific’s integrated TransferTop device built into the lid. These specimen cups are sold by the case of 300 and supplied in bulk rather than individually wrapped.
What closed-system transfer actually means
On an ordinary specimen cup, moving urine into a vacuum tube means unscrewing the lid, pouring or pipetting, and hoping nothing splashes. With the transfer device built in, the collector peels back the safety label on top of the cup and pushes the vacuum tube straight into the port. The tube fills under its own vacuum and the cup is never opened. That removes the two moments where urinalysis specimens are most often spilled, aerosolized or mixed up — the pour and the open lid — and it means one pair of hands can do the transfer at the bench without setting anything down.
Graduations and sterility
The cup is graduated to 100 mL, so the volume can be read in the cup rather than estimated, and it is sterile and single-use, which is what makes it usable for clinical urinalysis rather than screening alone.

The collection step, in order
The patient collects into the cup as usual and hands it back with the lid still sealed. At the bench, the collector peels back the safety label on top of the integrated transfer device, lines up a urine collection vacuum tube with the port, and pushes it in. The tube draws its own sample under vacuum in seconds, then comes back out ready to label and send. The cup itself is never reopened at any point after collection.
