What it is
Woven 100% cotton gauze sponges, 16 ply, each carrying a blue x-ray detectable element. Ten are packed sterile in each tray. Not made with natural rubber latex.
How it is used
Count the sponges out of the tray at the start of a procedure and back in at the end. If a count does not match, the blue element shows on an x-ray. Single use.
Choosing the right one
Use these wherever sponges are counted in and out. For the same tray without the x-ray element, see the 4 x 4 in 12 ply tray of 10 (3345). For large lap sponges, see 12 x 12 in (3145).
