Buying guidePorous tape, tape on a spool, and choosing a width
Porous tape
A strong cotton cloth tape with an open weave that lets skin breathe and a hot-melt adhesive that holds firm. It shapes to the body and tears by hand, and its strength suits light support and holding splints.
Tape on a spool
The non-woven 1/2 in × 5 yd tape comes on its own plastic spool, so it stays clean and cuts on the spool's edge. Spools come 12 to a bag, 36 bags to a case, one for each kit or cart.
Choosing a width
1/2 in suits fingers and IV lines, 1 in most dressings, 2 in larger dressings, and 3 in big dressings and wide areas.
