What it is
A small sphere of non-woven gauze, 1 in (2.5 cm) across, used in place of a folded gauze pad to press on an insertion site after a needle comes out. Two dots per sterile pouch. Dynarex lists dialysis as a common use. Not made with natural rubber latex.
How it is used
Open a pouch, press one dot on the site and tape over it. Keep pressure on as your protocol directs. Single use.
Choosing the right one
Use a dot where a folded 2 x 2 would be bulky. For a flat pad instead, see the sterile 2 x 2 in gauze pads (3352).
