What it is
A sterile wool blanket soaked in a water-soluble gel. It cools burned skin, and the wool also shields against heat, flame and smoke. The sealed blanket acts as a barrier against airborne contamination during transport.
How it is used
Open the bag and wrap the blanket around the patient. It cools burned skin over a large area and protects against heat and smoke while the patient is moved. Single use.
Choosing the right one
The 60 x 70 in covers an adult. For a child or a smaller area, the 30 x 35 in (1337) costs less and takes less room in a kit.
