What it is
Woven 100% cotton gauze sponges, 8 ply, with folded edges that keep loose threads and lint out of the wound. Non-sterile, packed 200 to a sleeve, for cleaning, prepping and dressing where a sterile pouch is not needed. Not made with natural rubber latex.
How it is used
Pull what you need from the sleeve. Use dry, or wet with saline or a cleanser, to clean skin, prep a site or cover a wound. Throw each sponge away after use.
Choosing the right one
More ply means a thicker, more absorbent sponge: 8 ply for light cleaning, 12 ply for most dressing work, 16 ply for heavier drainage. Others in this line: 2 x 2 in 12 ply (3223), 3 x 3 in 8 ply (3232), 3 x 3 in 12 ply (3233), 4 x 4 in 8 ply (3242), 4 x 4 in 12 ply (3243), 4 x 4 in 16 ply (3244). The Advantage 2 x 2 in 8 ply (3262) is the same size and ply and costs less per sponge.
