Details
What it is
A soft tube of 100% cotton knit that protects the skin under a cast or splint. It wicks away sweat, shapes to the limb without wrinkling and gives gentle pressure to hold a dressing.
How it is used
Cut a length a few inches longer than the cast. Slide it over the limb, smooth out any wrinkles, then pad and cast over it, folding the ends back over the cast edge.
Choosing the right one
The 4 in suits a lower leg or upper arm. Other widths: 2 in (3692), 3 in (3693) or 6 in (3696). For padding over the stockinette, see undercast padding (3885–3888).
