Details
What it is
A thick, high-absorbency pad: a soft non-woven cover over a fluffy fill, sealed at the edges to cut leaks. Often called an ABD pad. Non-sterile and bulk packed, for use as an outer layer where sterility is not needed. Not made with natural rubber latex.
How it is used
Place the pad over the primary dressing and hold it with tape or a roll bandage. Change it when it is saturated.
Choosing the right one
Bulk non-sterile pads cost less per pad. If the pad goes on an open wound, use a sterile one: 5 x 9 in (3501), 8 x 7.5 in (3502), 8 x 10 in (3503).
